The Prep
Origionally schedulled as my first wedding of 2020. You know March 2020 where we went from “It’s a wedding” to “It’s a wedding with a handful of guests” to “It’s just us and the vicar” to “weddings are banned” in the space of a week. That was the week leading up to Sarah and Joe’s wedding. What a complete whirlwind these two lovely (and I mean that so lovely) people went through. Noone deserved to be in that position. However, we won’t dwell on that…
Fast forward and when weddings were legally allowed but with a limit of 15 guests these two headed back to the church. In a unique yet lovely twist of fate Sarah’s dad is actually a vicar himself and in a clever devious plan, he was asked to be dad and vicar at the same time to make room for an extra guest.
Hitting that fast forward button again, it was time for the proper party over at Swynford Manor. I’ve always enjoyed my trips to this unique venue in my time as a Cambridgeshire wedding videograqpher and this was no different.
Well… it was slightly different. These guys were already married, by dad and nothing was going to beat that. So, there was no wedding ceremony. The guys got ready seperately and when it was time to meet their guests then headed down, together. Absolutely covered by confetti it was time to chat with all their guests before they headed inside.
How They Made it Their Own
Well for one, there was no ceremony so that just gave time to chill and enjoy their friends and family’s company. Joe’s speach was a little bit special and dad made a joke about being stitched up to do two jobs on the church ceremony.
But what really made this day unique was Sarah and Joe themselves. I seem to be really lucky with my couples and I find myself saying this alot but genuinely you couldn’t hope to meet two kinder, sweeter people.
Wedding Video Vibe
Well with no wedding ceremony to include in the film, it was all about interactions. The couple, their guests and everything inbetween.
We got one of the golden hours of the year which helped me grab one of my fave frames of the year too!
I also just want to throw out a huge hola to Chris Brundenell (photographer) I know I said the bride and groom were genuinely amazing but so was this guy, such a genuinely lovely guy that it was a pleasure to work with on the day!
