Alice and Duck finally had their day in the sun, and what a beaut of a day it was! The guys were married in September 2020 and we headed over to Swanton Morley House and Gardens to create a film and get some pictures to mark the occasion. You can watch their film here…
A Themed Wedding Day
It’s not often I film a themed wedding but when Alice and Duck first spoke to me about their day (following Alice’s sister Jess and Lewi’s wedding) I knew it was going to be something different. With a theme based on The Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice and Duck planned to have an intimate day at Hall for All in Norfolk.
The family had planned the decor in the Hall as a surprise for the bride and groom and this was kept secret until after the ceremony.
A Ceremony with a Twist
As I arrived at the Hall for the ceremony it was easy to spot the marquee on the grass. It isn’t every day where you see a black marquee for a wedding but as I have already said this was a wedding with a twist. Hanging from the sides were characters from the Tim Burton film with little details dotted here and there
Before Duck walked down the aisle, we had a very unique confetti entrance. You need to watch the film as I won’t be able to do it justice! As Alice made her way down the aisle, tears filled Duck’s eyes and he uttered the phrase “I told you it would rain in here!”
A reaffirmation of the couple’s vows over it was straight out to go for a trip in the car. We headed to a nearby beauty spot to capture some couples moments by the river. It was a hot day and we were glad of the shade in the trees.
Something A Bit Different
After the speeches were over, we headed out into the golden hour. The golden light bathed across the farmland and again these two had some time together. Once the sun had gone it was time for the first dance.
Now Alice and Duck had asked for something a little bit different. They were keen to have a graveyard at night shot. Tim and I headed off after the first dance to check out the nearby church and to set up some lighting.
You will be able to see the results of this in their film. It was a gorgeous day and a pleasure to be these guys Norfolk Wedding videographer.
