The Prep

This was a wedding a long time in the making. Amy first spoke to me about their big day while I showcased my work at an open day she had organised. She had very kindly invited me to the event linked to her business. Amy runs the fabulous wedding dress showroom Adella Bridal based in Norfolk. I see many of her dresses throughout the year as I work as a wedding videographer in Norfolk and further afield.

Unfortunately, at that point I actually was unavailable for her wedding. Funnily enough my bride who was booked in was Heidi who had bought her dress from Amy. There had been a few jokes along the way between them both.

When Amy and Ash made the difficult decision to postpone they were straight on the phone asking if I could do their new date. I was delighted that I was able to say I could and so the planning began! Amy had designed her own dress and was getting ready at home while Ash was at his family’s house next to what would become the venue. I always have a lot of respect for those couples who plan their own DIY wedding. I can only imagine the logistics but Amy and Ash smashed it with a marquee on private property but with a short hop across the road to the local church.

How They Made it Their Own

As I have already said, I always have massive respect for anyone who is planning a full DIY wedding. Even once you have got your suppliers all onboard it’s still a challenge to get it right. Amy and Ash had so many personal parts to the day, with gorgeous colours, flowers and a real fun vibe.

It didn’t stop there though from a DIY point of view. With Amy’s business well everyone would be looking at the dress so Amy designed her own gown and wow!

Wedding Video Vibe

Amy and Ash’s wedding had a real fun vibe. I also wanted to get across the elegance of the day. This all cuts through into a rather special little film that I was so excited to send over. We went out for couples portraits THREE times and wow I had so much content to choose from. With the highlights film I decided to focus on the moments we captured just after Amy’s dress change. This was in the very last moments of golden hour just before the sun officially set.
