An Incredible Destination Wedding Video

The Prep:

My first ever time as a destination wedding videographer took me to the beautiful island of Crete in Greece. This was a wedding long in the making. I remember first sitting down with Amaia and Martin way back in 2018 and we started talking about their plans to get married in Crete at the same place where Amiaia had been going on holiday since a child.

Originally planned for 2020 unfortunately like so many plans had to be put on ice. Rebooked for 2022 we jetted off to the sun for what was a magical 4 days! With more time to plan their wedding day came more plans. Tim Stephenson and I arrived on Thursday and were able to enjoy some pool time before the hard work began.

A quick pre-wedding meeting on Friday morning filled us in on all the details of the day and to put in plans for a walk around Chania’s old town on Sunday.

How They Made It Their Own:

Ok, so you can’t make things more your own than everyone flying out to your favourite place in the world. This was a truly magical and authentic wedding that was unique and perfect for Amaia and Martin. With traditional Greek Dancing, good food and one hell of a party this was one of the most amazing few days I have had working.

To give you a rough idea of the logistics that went into getting all the details and decor over to Crete. Amaia had managed to stow around 14 suitcases at the hotel over the past few years!

Wedding Video Vibe:

For Amaia and Martin’s wedding package, there was a wide variety of films. From the high octane of their Love Story Shoot on Coveithe Beach through to their romantic walk through Chania’s old town this was reflected in the wedding films. For their highlights wedding film, I went with a vow-driven storyline and a gentler soundtrack. But when it came to trashing the dress at sunrise the day we left I had to go for something for fun!
