Bengali Wedding The Old Hall Ely Jakhya and Shaun

Jakhya and Shaun, what is there to say about these two?  They had the most epic Bengali wedding at the gorgeous Old Hall in Ely, Cambridgeshire.  For some couples though, one wedding just isn’t enough. To encompass both the traditions of Jakhya’s family and those of a traditional white wedding J + S had two weddings.  Come back soon to see a rather epic white micro wedding film soon.

An Epic Bengali Wedding Ceremony

As I arrived at The Old Hall in Ely, I found Jakhya and her bridal party getting ready.  All social distancing rules in full force, Jakhya was in hair and make-up mode.  Hanging off the bed was the most incredible tradition Bengali wedding dress.  Stunning in red with such amazing details on it.  Working alongside Thomas Ellwood Photography for the first time.  Before everyone was too ready we also popped out into the hall to film a little clip for a Tik Tok video that the girls had planned.  You can see that further down the page.

Just before the ceremony was about to begin.  Shaun quickly popped out to sort something.  Jakhya walked in, to see Shaun was missing and quickly reversed out of the room.  At the second attempt, she walked into the ceremony room to see her groom standing looking awesome in his traditional Bengali wedding attire.

After completing the traditional Nikah ceremony with the Imam.  The couple completed Arsi Mushraf followed by the sharing of Shorbot and Mishyi together.  The formalities finished with the couple exchanging flower garlands to signify the couple’s acceptance of each other.

A Walk Around The Old Hall in Ely

After all the formal bits, it was time to take these two lovelies for a walk around the gorgeous grounds of The Old Hall, Ely.  As the sun started to fall we were blessed with some gorgeous golden light.  Jakhya and Shaun just smashed their couples time.  Some gorgeous moments captured.  I hope you love this Bengali Wedding as much as I do and come back soon to see these two again for their white wedding.
