Best-Cambridgeshire-Wedding-Venues

In my time working as a wedding videographer in Cambridgeshire I have worked at some truly stunning wedding venues.  With that in mind, I have put together a list of 10 of the Best Cambridgeshire Wedding Venues for you to have a look at. There are some stunning places to consider from this selection of amazing properties. I also have a wild card to show you in selection number ten.

1 Chippenham Park

The house and gardens of Chippenham Park were founded by Admiral Lord Russell in the closing years of the 17th Century, following permission from King William II. The gardens are quite beautiful and have been awarded the highest rating by the Good Gardens Guide.

The privately-owned house is grade II listed and is surrounded by 300 acres of parkland gardens. It is one of the most delightful wedding venues you can imagine. Chippenham Park has professional wedding planners available to bring your fantasies to life. Packed full of some beautiful settings for weddings, such as the Octagon or the Old Ballroom.

2 The Old Hall, Ely

The Old Hall, Ely, is a stunning country retreat and a stone’s throw from the centre of the beautiful Cambridgeshire town. This Jacobean house was only recently renovated, and as you will see from the header video on their website, it looks in perfect condition. There are incredible views of the famous Ely Cathedral over the lake. This must surely be one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the whole of England.

The venue is well known for the warm and welcoming atmosphere that the owners, the Morbey family, have created. Wedding parties have the exclusive use of the house and gardens for the whole day and night. There is a honeymoon suite and guest bedrooms available for wedding parties. If you are searching for the best Cambridgeshire Wedding Venues, then this is somewhere you must surely consider.

3 Hotel Du Vin, Cambridge

The Hotel Du Vin, in Cambridge, offers to accommodate your wedding wishes from beginning to end with the ability to adapt to your needs and ensure that your wishes are carried out. This is achieved by a personal wedding organizer.

Whatever style of celebration you dream of, they can help with the details, and ensure that the food and drink options are perfectly complementary to the style of your wedding event.

4 Bassmead Manor Barns

This beautiful venue is to be found inside the ancient moat of an ancient manor house. Bassmead Manor Barns is a 300-year-old traditional beamed barn. For a wedding with a real sense of British history, this venue excels. The interior design is second-to-none, and the setting of landscaped gardens evoke a sense of serenity that spills over into your wedding service. The barn itself may be old, but they have developed contemporary areas to add sophistication.

Every celebration held at Bassmead Manor Barns is completely unique, built around your specific needs, whether it be for 150 or a more intimate 50 people.

5 Swynford Manor

Swynford Manor fuses contemporary style with rural charm into a memorable wedding venue. The 18th Century Manor is located a mere 20 minutes from Cambridge and has close connections with Lord Byron, the famous poet. The lane outside was also the venue to King Charles II’s infamous horse race. The Manor has 12 guest rooms and seven acres of lawns and paddocks, and for your special day, it is exclusively yours.

6 South Farm

Situated on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border, South Farm is a 20-acre property consisting of gardens, beautiful rural buildings, and a charming farm. The perfect backdrop for your wedding celebration. The Barn Wedding venue is an ideal setting for a romantic rural style wedding. The farmhouse is so attractive, and the converted barns surrounded by stunning gardens could not be beaten as a venue for your wedding.

If you imagine a wedding that exudes rustic charm, where rare breeds of domestic animals live, alongside colourful wagons. A venue that is exclusively yours and that creates a sense of being isolated from the world, then South Farm is for you.

7 Sheene Mill

Sheene Mill is a place of unimaginable serenity set in the rural Cambridgeshire countryside alongside the River Mel. The venue is a family-owned 400-year-old flour mill, or you may choose to hold the celebration in a pavilion that spreads over the river. I guess you would call the decor “Shabby Chic”, and this is complemented by the award-winning catering and events team set the tone of your important day.

8 Barrington Hall

Barrington Hall is a Victorian Manor that is set in the delightful Cambridgeshire countryside. The grounds consist of rolling green lawns populated by peacocks that wander freely and bounded by giant cedar trees. The venue has three rooms that may be used for ceremonies. They can cater for parties of just a few guests, or up to 130.

If you prefer a church wedding, Barrington village has a beautiful 14th-century church that is situated just metres away from the hall. Wedding parties will have exclusive use of Barrington Hall, which will provide an attractive setting for your big day.

9 The Thatch Barn

The Thatch Barn is situated on a genuine working farm that provides a real rural feel to the setting. The barn was renovated in 2013 and offers both a tranquil and unique venue for your big day. The barn has beautiful 400-year-old oak beams that span the width of the building. The barn itself is thatched, which keeps the barn cool in the summer. Depending on the time of the year, the adjacent fields will have wheat or other crops growing. The barn is licenced for up to 100 guests in the day and 130 for dancing in the evening, and music has to finish by 11:30 pm, with the barn vacated at 11:45 pm.

10 Horsley Hale Farm

I will finish with something very different, and I think of it as an interesting alternative. Horsley Hale Farm offers a stunning landscape where you can hold your own unique festival wedding weekend. You are free to use the space to erect your own marquees, tents, and make the space your own. You are not tied to caterers, and no corkage fees, so you can arrange your own bar. They just supply the setting and the rest can be organized your way.

Cambridgeshire is on of my favourite counties to film weddings. It has such a wide variety of wedding venues available for a couple planning their wedding. From the colleges of Cambridge to rural barns there will be a wedding venue for you.
